The Inside Scoop: A Clients Candid Thoughts on Brazilian Waxing

At UpLift Salon and Spa, we believe that every client's journey is unique and worth sharing. To shed light on the Brazilian waxing experience, we've interviewed one our amazing clients, Abbey, who has graciously shared her story, tips, and reflections in this Q&A. In addition we also have some insight from one of the best waxers in Denver, Jenna, who's in our spa Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Q.  Abbey, how did you first hear about our spa, and what made you choose us for your waxing needs?

A. I looked up salons and spas on Google and read a lot of good reviews about UpLift so I wanted to try it out.

Q. Can you describe your first Brazilian waxing experience at UpLift Salon and Spa? Was that your first Brazilian ever?

A. My first ever Brazilian was at UpLift Salon and it went great! I was so nervous and scared, but Jenna was so professional and got me through it swiftly!

Q. What were your initial thoughts and feelings before your first Brazilian wax?

A. I wanted to cancel my appointment I was so nervous, but I also wanted to get the results and after meeting Jenna I knew it would be easier than I made it out to be.

Q. Abbey, how has your experience changed over time with regular waxing?

A. I now look forward to all my appointments with Jenna! The pain is manageable and the results are so worth it, I recommend them now to everyone!

Q. How do you feel immediately after getting a Brazilian wax?

A. I feel confident and overall feel cleaner. It lasts so long and it’s refreshing to know each session is helping down the road.

Q. Abbey, have you noticed any long-term benefits since you started waxing?

A. I’ve noticed the hair isn’t as full and thick as it used to be before I started waxing regularly.

Q. How has Brazilian waxing impacted your confidence or lifestyle?

A. I personally hate shaving and waxing makes my life so much easier. It boosts my confidence and I’m not always worried about needing to shave.

Q. What do you appreciate most about our spa’s waxing services?

A. UpLift is a very welcoming and professional salon! I not only get Brazilians there, I regularly go for eyebrow waxing, facials, and all my hair needs.

Q. Abbey, what tips would you give someone considering their first Brazilian wax?

A. My biggest words of advice is to relax and talk with your esthetician. They’ll keep your mind off of everything and it’s a lot faster of a process than most people think!

Now, Let's hear from Jenna, Denver's waxing wonder, on how to rock the season with confidence!

Q. Jenna, How do you clients prepare for a waxing appointment?

A. Make sure the hair is long enough to wax. The hair should be around the size of a grain of rice. Take a warm shower before hand if you can to help soften the pores and gently exfoliate 24 hours before the service. Wear loose fitting clothing after your appointment.

Q. How do you manage any discomfort during the waxing process?

A. I always apply pressure to the spot I just pulled. I also talk to my client as much as possible to keep their minds off the waxing

Q. Jenna, what aftercare routine do you recommend to follow to maintain the results?

A. Again, it is important to wear loose fitting clothing after appointment. No sweating, no sex and no swimming for 24-48 hours after waxing. Exfoliate 48 hours after your wax and three times a week between appointments to help combat ingrowns. I love Aveda’s Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant, it's gentle, easy to use, and really works!

Q. How often do should a client get a Brazilian wax to maintain smooth skin?

A. For the best feeling skin a cleint should get a Brazillianwax every 4-6 weeks. This is ideal with the hairs growth cycle.

Q. Jenna, what myths about Brazilian waxing would you like to debunk?

A. The hair does NOT grow back thicker or faster. Its actually quite the opposite. The more hair bulbs that we can remove/destroy, the less hair that will grow.  Consistency is key!

Q. What would you say to someone who is nervous about trying a Brazilian wax.

A. The pain is absolutely bearable. Its fast and gets easier with each time you come in.

Q. Jenna, do you have any funny or memorable stories related to your waxing experiences?

A. Sometimes when I pull a strip, some clients natural reflexes kick in and I end up getting a knee to the breast or getting accidentally kicked in the head but it always surprises myself and my client when it happens LOL!

Whether you're a seasoned pro or considering your first Brazilian wax, Abbey and Jenna's insights can help you understand what to expect, how to prepare, and how to make the most of your waxing sessions.
